You know what goes great with a workout rest day? A bagel from Panera. So dense and chewy and delicious.
The wife and I are selling our terrible bedroom set and buying something a little less huge and ugly. I swear just taking the headboard and footboard off the bed and putting it on a standard frame made the room feel so much bigger. Hopefully we can find a good modern looking set for cheap that isn’t built poorly.
Random thoughts:
-I really want some sushi.
-I am obsessed with Fallout 3.
-JRPGs are kind of boring these days.
I have been playing Final Fantasy IV on my DSi and while it’s fun somewhat, it’s just not the same as when I was a kid. I used to be able to play like a Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest or other similar game for hours upon hours. Now I can maybe get an hour in before getting painfully bored. I think it’s the turn-based battles. Maybe I’ve just become impatient in my old age..
The only one I can play over and over (and over) is Suikoden II on PSOne. I should play through that again.
I used to love them. Like, starting a new one and playing through it was pure bliss. Now I’d rather play through a Super Metroid or a Zelda or an Adventures of Kid Kleets. Something about being more active. Maybe it’s not so much that I’ve become impatient as much as it is that I just don’t have the time to sit and wait for a battle to go through, then take 5 steps, and do the same thing all over. My short ammount of free time and my short attention span demands action, like blowing a Super Mutant’s head off with a teddy bear (<3 Rock-it Launcher)
Day 2. The obviousness of my out-of-shapedness is pounding through my legs. Yesterday was more strength-based stuff I guess. All I know is there were a lot of lunges. So many lunges..
Much like how the berries Ralph ate tasted, today my legs feel like burning. However despite feeling like the walking dead, I actually do feel really good. Sure I’m only two days in, but I am quite proud of myself for it. I’ve already doubled the length of my usual exercise regimens.
Today is my preprogrammed rest day. Best thing about EASA is probably that it presets your rest days. If I had to set my own rest day, then today would be a rest day, and tomorrow, and the next day, and on and on until three months later when I think “holy moly I am a fat guy” and start all over again. As is, I know that the program is expecting me off today and on again on Friday. Pretty sweet.
For my rest day, I think I’ll go for a walk, provided it doesn’t rain.
Random fact of the day:
I ate 22 raw almonds yesterday.
I started up EA Sports Active on Wii yesterday and thought I was going to die. Only through Day 1 of the “30 Day Challenge” but I am going to try to stick with it. Will healthiness overcome supreme laziness? Stay tuned, dear readers.
Things I learned from day one:
-I am incredibly out of shape.
-Running in place is harder than actual running.
-The “Inline Skating” exercise is just the absolute worst.
For the inline skating, you have to squat down to build up speed, then when you get to a ramp, you have to stand and jump from the squatting position. Doesn’t sound like it would be too hard, but I have a hell of a lot of bulk to throw up into the air like that.
Stay tuned for day two.
Random fact of the day:
Weight as of 6/30/09 - 295 lbs. Jesus.
Going to start writing on this thing again. Maybe. Hopefully? Nothing of importance, just what goes on once in a while.
i’m the bassist in we make thunder again. a year later. man, i never write on this thing. oh well. see you all in a few months.
Nothing worthy of note has been happening in my life, in case anyone is wondering. Work and school and time with the wife. Trying to play songs and not doing well. Restrung my pink bass. Gonna restring my pink guitar. Write a song about a robot. Put on my socks. Go to the wifes parents house. Come home. Play some video games. Watch some TV. Write a book report. Pet the cats. Go to sleep. Go to work. Go home. Cook the wife dinner. Or she’ll cook for me. I am a technophile. I always want new shiny things. That’s all.
i am no longer the bassist for the amazing We Make Thunder.
So my wife sent me a picture of Noam Chomsky. I decided to have some fun with it. Here are the results.
